NIT (Notice Inviting Tender)
A Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) is the official advertisement a procuring agency publishes — in newspapers, on its own website, and on the relevant PPRA-style portal — to invite bids from interested contractors and suppliers.
An NIT typically states the tender/reference number, a brief description of the goods/works/services required, eligibility criteria, how and where to obtain bidding documents, the cost of bidding documents (if any), the bid submission deadline, and the bid security requirement. Responding to an NIT means downloading or purchasing the full bidding documents and preparing a bid according to the stated procedure.
